Chilli Fives

// July 11th, 2008 // General

Sunday night is curry night. We always start of with a pint of cider and the local “nasty” pub before moving on to the curry house.

Firstly, what is “Fives”? I found an article on Bar Meister that saves me trying to explain it.

However, instead of the loser seeing off a drink, they have to eat a piece of chopped chilli. One of us will order a very spicy dish with chopped chilli (usually the bird eye chilli’s). The rules are:

  • 10 proper chews, 5 on each side of the mouth. They have to be counted.
  • Each person has to do at least one. We had occasions when Ed was so bad at Fives, that he would lose every game.
  • No yogurt drinks

It’s great fun. We’ll no doubt be coming up with a few more curry games. I’ll keep them posted. We do all of our Chilli Fives at:

Taj Mahal, 150 Upper Richmond Road, London, SW15 2SW

An excellent curry house if you’re ever in the Putney area. I recommend the chicken Jalfrezi.
